STF Assam Makes Major Breakthrough in Intercepting Terrorist Supply Route to Manipur
Guwahati, June 16, 2024: In a resolute endeavor to stem the flow of illicit materials into Manipur and restore peace and order to the region, the Special Task Force (STF), Assam, has achieved a significant breakthrough. The operation culminated in the apprehension of Sanjib Kumar Mishra, a resident of Noonmati area, Guwahati, who was intercepted with drone parts in the Rupnagar area of the city yesterday evening.
Following an extensive surveillance and strategic planning, the STF successfully intercepted the suspect as he attempted to transport the incriminating items destined for terrorist groups operating in Manipur. This operation marks a pivotal success in preventing a potentially catastrophic sabotage effort amidst the prevailing violence in Manipur state.
In response to this critical development, a case has been formally registered under STF PS Case No 10/2024, invoking sections 121 IPC read with 16/18 UA (P) Act, 1967. The authorities remain steadfast in their commitment to safeguarding national security and maintaining stability in the region, underscoring the gravity of the apprehended individual’s alleged activities.
