Assam Police STF Busts Fake Gold Racket in Guwahati, 5.7 Kg Seized
Guwahati: In a successful operation, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam seized 5.7 kg of fake gold in Guwahati. Acting on specific intelligence, an STF team raided the Kerakuchi area, located under the jurisdiction of Basistha Police Station. During the raid, two individuals were arrested for their involvement in the fake gold trade.
The raid, which took place in Guwahati, resulted in the recovery of six pieces of fake gold, weighing 5.709 kg in total. Along with the fake gold, other suspicious articles were also confiscated by the police team.
The apprehended individuals are now in custody and face charges related to the possession of counterfeit gold. Authorities are conducting further investigations to uncover any wider network connected to the case.
This operation highlights the continued efforts by Assam police to tackle illegal activities, including gold smuggling and other fraudulent schemes.
