STF Assam Seizes Heroin and Ganja in Amingaon Operation; Three Arrested
Guwahati: In a determined effort to combat drug trafficking, Assam’s Special Task Force (STF) conducted a significant operation in Kamrup, leading to the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of a substantial quantity of narcotics. Acting on a credible tip-off, an STF team, led by Additional Superintendent of Police (STF) Kalyan Kr Pathak, intercepted a vehicle with the registration number NL 07 AA 1919 at Amingaon, Kamrup.
During the vehicle search, officials uncovered 22 soap boxes containing heroin, weighing 286 grams, and 49 packets of ganja, amounting to 16 kilograms and 200 grams. The vehicle was confiscated, and the three suspects present at the scene were taken into custody for further questioning.
This successful operation reflects Assam’s ongoing commitment to crack down on drug networks operating within the state. Authorities continue to ramp up efforts to target the illegal drug trade, strengthening enforcement and vigilance across key areas.
