STF Assam Seizes Heroin Worth Lakhs in Raids at Balughat and Beltola; Three Arrested
Guwahati: Acting on specific intelligence, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam conducted simultaneous raids at Balughat and Beltola Bazar. These locations fall under the jurisdiction of Basistha and Dispur police stations in Guwahati.
The operations led to the arrest of three individuals allegedly involved in drug trafficking. Officials seized 129 vials of heroin weighing 174.05 grams during the raids. The seized items also included three mobile phones, a substantial amount of cash, and a two-wheeler believed to be used in the illegal trade.
The STF stated that these raids are part of their intensified efforts to curb drug trafficking in Assam. The accused are currently in police custody, and further investigations are underway to determine their network and possible links to larger drug syndicates.
This operation underscores Assam’s ongoing battle against the drug menace. Authorities have urged citizens to report suspicious activities to help eliminate such illegal activities from the state.
