STF Assam Seizes Heroin Worth Lakhs in Boko Operation; Suspect Apprehended
Guwahati: Acting on specific intelligence inputs, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam carried out a successful operation at Boko under the jurisdiction of Boko Police Station in Kamrup district. The team intercepted a public vehicle bearing registration number AS 01 FC 8114 and made a significant seizure of contraband substances.
The operation led to the recovery of 9 soap boxes containing heroin, with a total weight of 121 grams (excluding the weight of the soap boxes). Alongside the narcotics, the STF team seized a mobile handset and cash from the possession of the suspect.
Authorities confirmed that the apprehended individual is under investigation to ascertain further links to drug trafficking networks in the region. The interception was part of Assam’s ongoing efforts to curb the transportation and distribution of illicit drugs.
This incident underscores the commitment of the Assam Police and its specialized units to tackle the growing menace of drug trafficking. Such operations serve as a stern warning to those involved in illegal activities and reflect the state’s zero-tolerance policy toward narcotics.
