STF Assam Seizes 588 Grams of Heroin Concealed in Truck at Amingaon, Two Arrested
Guwahati, September 20, 2024: Acting swiftly on a tip-off, the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam intercepted a truck at Amingaon in Kamrup. The truck, bearing registration number AS 28 AC 1042, was halted under the supervision of Additional Superintendent of Police (STF), Kalyan Kr Pathak.
Upon thorough inspection, the STF team discovered 42 soap boxes filled with heroin. The drugs, weighing a total of 588 grams, were cleverly hidden beneath the truck’s tarpaulin. This operation marked a significant breakthrough in the fight against drug trafficking in the region.
In connection with the drug haul, two individuals were apprehended on the spot. The suspects are believed to be linked to a larger drug trafficking network operating in the area. Authorities are continuing the investigation to uncover more details about the operation.
This seizure highlights the ongoing efforts by the Assam police to combat the growing drug menace.
