STF Operation Yields Arrest of Alleged Drug Trafficker in Bharalumukh
Guwahati, May 13, 2024: In a coordinated operation spearheaded by Inspector Kapil Pathak, a team from the Special Task Force (STF) executed a raid at the residence of Afsana Begum, located in Bhutnath Bagan within the jurisdiction of Bharalumukh Police Station.
The meticulously planned raid, prompted by actionable intelligence, resulted in the apprehension of a female suspect. Upon thorough search of the premises, law enforcement officers discovered and seized significant evidence implicating the suspect in illicit activities.
Among the confiscated items were 1 soap box and 1 plastic container containing approximately 46.5 grams of suspected heroin. In addition to the narcotics, a sum of Rs. 10,410/- in cash was seized, alongside 2 mobile handsets, 2 plastic packets containing 200 empty vials, and various other articles believed to be associated with the distribution of controlled substances.
Inspector Kapil Pathak emphasized the importance of such operations in combatting the scourge of drug trafficking, reaffirming the commitment of law enforcement to ensuring the safety and security of the community.
The apprehended suspect is currently in custody, pending further investigation and legal proceedings. The Bharalumukh Police Department urges the public to remain vigilant and cooperative in efforts to eradicate the menace of drug-related crimes from our society.
