Assam Police Sub-Inspector Caught Red-Handed Accepting Bribe at Baksa
Guwahati: In a major anti-corruption operation, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption, Assam, trapped Sub-Inspector Subal Ch. Roy of Barama Police Station. He was caught red-handed after accepting a bribe from a complainant. The incident occurred within the police station campus in Baksa district.
The accused officer allegedly demanded money from the complainant to release their vehicle, which had been impounded earlier. Acting on the complaint, the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption team set up a trap to catch Roy in the act. After receiving the bribe, the Sub-Inspector was immediately apprehended by the authorities.
This case has raised serious concerns about corruption within law enforcement, prompting the department to take strict action against those involved. The arrested officer will face legal proceedings as the investigation continues.
