Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal Emerges Victorious in Sexual Harassment Case Against Show’s Producer
Desk Report, March 26, 2024: Actress Jennifer Mistry Bansiwal, famous for her role in “Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,” has won a sexual harassment case against the show’s producer, Asit Kumar Modi. The court gave its decision on February 15, 2024. Modi has to pay Mistry her unpaid salary and an extra Rs 5 lakh.
Mistry told reporters, “Asit Kumar Modi needs to pay me my dues, which is around Rs 25-30 lakh, and give an extra Rs 5 lakh for the harassment.” Mistry is upset because she hasn’t received her money yet and because the show’s Project Head Sohail Ramani and executive producer Jatin Bajaj haven’t faced any punishment.
Mistry said, “I’m glad the court acknowledged my complaint, but I don’t think justice is completely done.” Mistry, who played Mrs. Roshan Sodhi in Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, left the show in 2023. She later complained against Modi, Ramani, and Bajaj for sexual harassment at work, citing sections 354 and 509 of the IPC.
Modi denied the allegations in the FIR and gave a statement to the police. He said, “We don’t know about any FIR. The case is being looked into, so we won’t say more.”
