Fatal Road Accident Triggers Tensions in Kachua, Nagaon District

Kachua, April 12, 2024: Tragedy struck the serene precincts of Kachua in Nagaon district on the night of Eid-ul-Fitr as a fatal road accident sent shockwaves through the community. The incident, which occurred at Barpani tea estate in Kachua’s Rajagaon area, resulted in a heated situation as locals grappled with the aftermath.

The collision, described as a head-on confrontation between a Swift and a Scooty, proved fatal for one individual and left another critically injured. The Scooty rider, identified as Rajiv Kujo, a dedicated educator by profession, sustained severe injuries in the accident.

The vehicular mishap promptly escalated tensions, leading to an outpouring of anger from bystanders. In an act of frustration, the vehicle responsible for the collision was subjected to vandalism by an agitated mob, further complicating the scene.

In efforts to restore order, Police intervened, resorting to the use of firearms to quell the rising unrest. Subsequently, the police managed to safely extricate the stranded passengers from the tumultuous situation.

The vehicles involved in the accident bear the registration numbers AS 02 N 5907 (Swift) and AS 02 AH 2311 (Scooty), crucial pieces of information for ongoing investigations into the tragic event.
