Tragedy Strikes: Lightning Claims Life in Raimona, Leaving Family in Need of Support

Gossaigaon, April 16, 2024: A tragic event unfolded last night in Raimona, Gossaigaon, as a lightning strike claimed a life. Local MLA Jiran Basumatary swiftly extended support to the affected family.

Som Saren tragically lost his life in the incident, leaving his wife, Rongali Murmu, and their two young daughters, aged three, injured. They were promptly transported to Gosaigaon for urgent medical attention.

Som Saren, the primary provider for his family, worked tirelessly as a laborer. His body was transferred to Kokrajhar for a post-mortem examination. Sadly, not only Som Saren but also a goat succumbed to the lightning strikes.

The villagers are deeply troubled about the family’s future welfare, now that Som Saren can no longer provide for them. Both the family and the community are pleading with the government for assistance during this trying time.
