Tragic Incident Unfolds in Gossaigaon: Policeman Fatally Struck by Fleeing Vehicle
Gossaigaon, April 05, 2024: In a distressing turn of events, a harrowing incident occurred in Gossaigaon, leaving a dedicated Police officer, Abdur Rezzak Sarkar of Serfanguri Police Station, fatally wounded. Sarkar tragically lost his life while executing his duty, succumbing to injuries sustained after being struck by a fleeing vehicle.
The dreadful episode transpired during Sarkar’s vigilant pursuit of a vehicle involved in a prior road accident within the jurisdiction of Serfanguri Police Station. In the aftermath of the aforementioned accident, which involved an Eicher vehicle, the responsible party absconded from the scene. Sarkar, valiant in his commitment to uphold the law, promptly embarked on the pursuit of the fleeing vehicle, tracing its route towards Panbari in Gossaigaon.
With resolute determination, Sarkar endeavored to intercept the fleeing vehicle, fully aware of the grave risks inherent in such pursuits. However, in a tragic turn of events, his valiant efforts were met with calamity. As Sarkar signaled for the errant vehicle to halt, it callously collided with him, inflicting fatal injuries before careening away from the scene.
Despite the urgent response of medical personnel, Sarkar tragically succumbed to his injuries before reaching the hospital, marking a profound loss for both his colleagues in law enforcement and the community he served.
The untimely demise of Abdur Rezzak Sarkar serves as a poignant reminder of the inherent dangers faced by Police officers in the line of duty.
