NTA Announces Revised Dates for UGC NET, CSIR-UGC NET, and NCET Exams
Desk Report, June 29, 2024: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the rescheduled dates for the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET June 2024). According to the recently released examination calendar, the re-examination will take place from August 21 to September 4. The decision comes after the initial June edition faced cancellation due to concerns over compromised examination integrity.
In a notable shift, the NTA has opted to conduct the UGC NET re-examination in computer-based test (CBT) mode, reverting from the pen-and-paper format used in June. This change follows revelations that the question paper had been leaked and circulated on platforms like the darknet and Telegram app.
Earlier scheduled for June 25 to 27, the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research UGC-NET examination was also postponed due to logistical challenges. Similarly, the National Common Entrance Test (NCET), designed for admission to the four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme, faced delays attributed to technical issues at some examination centers.
Meanwhile, the NEET PG examination administered by the National Board of Examination (NBE) has been postponed amidst allegations of irregularities. The board president has indicated that a revised examination date will be announced shortly.
