UPPL to Field Joyanta Basumatary in Kokrajhar Lok Sabha Constituency for Upcoming Polls
Gossaigoan, March 14, 2024: In a significant political move, the United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) has officially declared Joyanta Basumatary as their candidate for the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency in the upcoming polls, as confirmed by the party on Wednesday.
Basumatary, the current MLA representing Sidli LAC and former vice-president of the All Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU), emerges as a formidable choice. The ruling ally, BJP, has graciously handed over this crucial constituency to the UPPL, further solidifying their alliance.
Optimism radiates within the UPPL camp, as they firmly believe that Basumatary’s candidature will not only secure victory in the Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency but also resonate positively across all contested constituencies in Assam.
