Wild Elephants Destroy Home Amid Floods, Leaving Family Homeless in Kampur
Kachua, May 30, 2024: In a harrowing incident amid the ongoing floods, a herd of wild elephants wreaked havoc in Longjap Padumoni, Kampur. The natural calamity, which has already caused significant distress in the region, took a turn for the worse when the herd, consisting of three to four elephants, descended upon the home of Hemeshwar Nath. The massive animals, likely driven by hunger and displacement due to the floods, broke down the door of Nath’s house, consuming all the stored paddy, a vital food resource for the family.
The destruction left Hemeshwar Nath and his family in a dire situation. With their home severely damaged and their food supplies depleted, the family now finds themselves homeless and without the means to sustain themselves. The elephants not only destroyed their primary source of nourishment but also shattered the sense of security the family had.
In response to this crisis, the victim family has urgently appealed to the government and local administration for immediate assistance and shelter. Hemeshwar Nath’s plea highlights the need for swift and effective disaster response mechanisms to address the multifaceted challenges posed by natural calamities.
