World Health Day Celebrated in Dhubri, Assam
Dhubri, April 08, 2024: On April 7th, the World Health Day was observed in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO), the Community Medicine Department of Dhubri Medical College & Hospital, and Urban Primary Health Centre (PHC) NUHM Dhubri.
The day commenced with a yoga camp held at Dhubri Medical College & Hospital, starting at 6:30 am, aimed at promoting holistic well-being and mindfulness among participants.
From 9.00 am to 3.00 pm, a Health Checkup camp was organized at Urban PHC Dhubri specifically catering to pregnant women and children under the age of 5, along with their mothers. This initiative aimed to ensure the health and well-being of the most vulnerable demographics in the community.
In a bid to raise awareness about the importance of good health practices, street plays were performed by students from Dhubri Medical College & Hospital. These engaging performances served as educational tools to convey vital health-related messages to the local population.
Furthermore, a tree plantation program was conducted at Urban PHC Dhubri, emphasizing the significance of environmental health and sustainability in promoting overall well-being.
The commemoration of World Health Day in Dhubri underscored the collective efforts of healthcare professionals and community members to prioritize health promotion and disease prevention for a healthier future.
